Blogs and Blogging

I am filled with amazement to see people committed to blogging across so many areas, and I mean it. I plan to go for an outing and, I bump into a travel blog. I think of buying something, and I land up on a product review blog.

There are numerous examples pretty much covering everything under the sun and many are helpful and insightful. I am sure you share somewhat similar experience. According to one source dating back to 2016, 2.7 million posts are published everyday. And that was in 2016!

As Einstein said: Imagination is more important than knowledge. Several of the committed bloggers have done tremendous amount of research into their subjects and have put in extra effort to materialize their imagination into something concrete: a blog.

Well… when you are committed to that imaginative stuff, I have taken it upon myself to support it with tad bits of knowledge time-to-time and that actually describes the purpose of this blog: Discover Personal Blogging.

I have created this blog on Google Blogger, one of the most popular blogging platforms. Who knows if it tops the list. Since Google doesn't provide any statistics on the matter, it's not possible to claim so. Read more: Google Blogger Review.

Besides I have one self-hosted WordPress Blog focusing on Enterprise Software. In fact, I have split it recently and this blog is an offshoot of my main blog. After this re-organization, they are focused niche blogs which I always wanted to do for a long time.

I have discussed about the pros and cons of choosing a proprietary platform like Google Blogger to publish your blog and a self-hosted blog. Broadly, with a (proprietary) platform provider, you are bound by their rules, terms & conditions and with a self-hosted blog, you have complete freedom.

At the same time, proprietary platforms make your life easy by hiding technical details behind the scenes with a user-friendly framework and self-hosting with a Web-host involves some technical understanding, though they too have evolved over time to provide simplified and easier to deploy and work with interfaces.

In case you want to know more, my articles on Popular CMS systems and What is WordPress expound further on this. Thank you for your interest in this place. All The Best!
